Before reading Return to Storyworld, it’s important to first read Dodger’s Doorway, the starting chapter of The Storyworld Saga. The story follows teenager Mark “Dodger” Bishop as he goes through a magic doorway. He ends up in the land of Storyworld, a realm inhabited by classic fairy tale and literary characters. Dodger teams up with the warrior Humpty Dumpty and the alchemist Rumpelstiltskin to embark on a series of adventures. Along the way, they encounter familiar names like Hansel and Gretel, Pinocchio, Jack the Giant-Slayer, and more. Dodger quickly discovers that many of the stories he grew up with weren’t very accurate.
